Dr. Jennifer Carney
Director of program evaluation
As the Director of Program Evaluation, Dr. Carney is responsible for designing and implementing rigorous evaluations of the Foundation’s scholarship and grant programs and providing program staff with information that can be used to improve those programs.
Prior to joining the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, Dr. Carney was a Senior Associate at Abt Associates Inc., where she conceptualized and led evaluation studies of federal and private educational initiatives. She is experienced conducting evaluation and research studies using a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods, and her substantive areas of interest include access and retention in postsecondary education.
Dr. Carney is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she received her Ms.Ed. and Ph.D. in Higher Education. She also graduated summa cum laude from the University of Richmond with a B.A. in Sociology and Women’s Studies.
