In partnership with the Lumina Foundation for Education and the Nellie Mae Education Foundation, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is sponsoring significant research designed to answer important questions related to the initiative, including

  • How many community-college students transfer to selective schools, and how well have they performed?
  • What successful models exist at selective four-year institutions that demonstrate how to facilitate the transfer of these students?
  • What are the perceived and actual barriers to transfer?
