The ACCESS/Tidewater Scholarship Foundation (VA): Assists students in South Hampton Roads (Tidewater) with the requirements for college acceptance, the college application process, and finding the funds to attend college. The CollegeBound Foundation (MD): Helps Baltimore city students go to college through a partnership with the public schools system. This site contains information about last-dollar grants; scholarship awards; upcoming workshops, college fairs and college tours; testing dates; and a list of resources for preparing and paying for college.
The MELMAC Education Foundation (ME): Works to increase the college-going rate of Maine students through high-quality initiatives. This site provides information on the Maine Principals Scholarship Program and copies of session presentations from MELMAC's Peer Learning Sessions.
National College Access Network: Offers practical guidance to start a college access program and provides resources and assistance for new programs. This site includes information on the scholarships and financial aid services offered by affiliate community programs and on NCAN's Building Blocks to creating a college access program, a Resource Library, a page of scholarship links, and a government page for tracking relevant bills in Congress.
Ohio College Access Network (OH): Ohio created the first statewide coordinating body for college access programs in the nation. On this website you can find a college evaluation tool, an outline of college access services, steps to starting a community program, and a list of grants and scholarships available to Ohio students.
Patrick County Education Foundation (VA): An economic development initiative that seeks to raise the county's educational attainment levels to among the top five rural counties in Virginia. This site has information on the county's college access program, GED Promotion Project, and workforce training program, as well as a list of the Virginia colleges that partner with this foundation.
The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria (VA): Encourages and assists the students of the Alexandria City Public Schools by providing them with the necessary resources to pursue a college or post-secondary education. This site provides information on how to apply for a scholarship, links to several federal financial aid sites, and a college application planning timeline.
