"Music has offered me connection, hope, and release."
Born in Southern California to a musical family Daniel's journey into music began with his love for the piano. As a child he was trained as a classical and jazz pianist but his real music education came from writing and arranging for bands as a teenager in and out of Los Angeles. In 2004 Daniel received a BA in music, magna cum laude, from the University of California in Riverside (his hometown). The following year he was accepted to complete his Masters in composition at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Currently Daniel is a Doctoral candidate in music composition at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University.
