Biography

Highlights of Young Scholar Experience: Geordie reached many of his short-term goals, he said, thanks to the Foundation. He participated in many summer programs such as the Principles of Engineering course at Lafayette College, the Aviation Challenger curriculum in Alabama, and an Aerospace Engineering course at Embry Riddle University in Florida.

Profile:  Geordie is a patriotic young man who was recognized by the American Legion post near his home in New Jersey as “Honorary Legionnaire of the Year.” A graduate of High Technology High School, Geordie stays involved with the local veterans organizations. Government “by the people” is a motto Geordie lives by, and he knows the importance of getting involved with his local municipality in order to effect change in the community. Also active in scouting, one summer he led a crew of New Jersey Boy Scouts on a ten-day high adventure trek at a ranch in New Mexico.

Inspiration: Geordie’s parents taught him the importance of working hard and being dedicated to completing his tasks, whatever they may be. He said his grandfather and great uncle who grew up during the Depression persevered and worked hard and kept their families in tact. “I aspire to have the same spirit that they possessed to accomplish everything that is set before me to the best of my ability.”

Aspiration: He hopes to work as an engineer for the federal government - possibly by continuing at PM-FBCB2/ BFT where he recently did a mentorship program as part of his High School curriculum.

Making a Difference:  Geordie started an organization called “Let Freedom Ring” to build and help maintain Freedom Park in New Jersey, in honor of the nation’s veterans.

Accolades:  Besides his American Legion honors, he is a member of the National Honor Society and was elected to the New Jersey Boys State Assembly, representing his county at Jersey Boys State. Outside of school, he is a 3rd Degree Senior Black Belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, as well as a certified instructor in that particular martial art.

Interesting fact:  Geordie can recite 65 digits of pi.
