“From the start of my college experience I made a decision that failure was not an option.”
PROFILE: Baltimore native Fawn Leipold was 16 when she dropped out of high school with the thought that she could quickly make money in the “real” world. There were plenty of jobs, for sure, but mostly minimum-wage positions. She realized that she made a mistake leaving high school so she looked her future square in the eye and decided to do something about it. She received her GED and channeled her thoughts and emotions into furthering her education. She enrolled in community college and was a regular on the Dean’s List. “Continuing my education in college was my life jacket.”
INTERESTING FACT: Fawn is a “natural food” critic. “I love to go out to eat and try new things then pretend I am a judge on TV.” She also enjoys riding horses at her grandfather’s farm in Pennsylvania.
