“Since a young age, I have always held a respect for the written word. In my school years, I was what one could call an introvert. While I was never at a loss for life experiences, I found solace in
books. Life was difficult for my mother and me, but the great ideas in books that offered beauty and hope helped me transcend the human struggles of poverty.”
