Brady
E
Redfearn
“I do not accept mediocrity and do my best to be involved in my education while maintaining my sanity through participation in non-educational projects, and social activities. Most of my current motivation, however, is a result of my family. With a baby on the way, I really want to be sure that my family will be taken care of in the future.”

Biography
PROFILE: These days, everything Brady Redfearn does is for two special someones: his wife and their unborn baby girl. Every class, extracurricular activity, and each volunteer mentoring assignment is geared toward providing for his family. Very early in his life, the Brigham Young graduate realized he had a knack for technology, computers, gadgets and the like. He could fix or figure out almost anything, and he has parlayed that skill into a highly-responsible position at his alma mater, where he has worked as a research assistant since graduation. He once wrote: “As my wife can attest, I have been addicted to technology since second grade. I love to work with and teach others to use technologies that will make their lives better and easier. I believe technology can be one of the most powerful tools on earth if it is used ethically and morally,” Brady said. He also has a strong commitment to community service. He chose to delay college to serve as a missionary for the LDS Church in Texas, where he worked with the people living in the Houston area.
INSPIRATION: Brady’s young family gives him all the inspiration he needs to accomplish the day’s tasks. In the classroom, Brady looks up to Professor Bret Swan, one of the nation’s experts on making technology easier to use.
ASPIRATION: Whatever Brady does in his professional life, one thing is certain. “I’ll work hard,” Brady said, “and I mean really hard.” He plans to continue to master various fields of technology, and have a career as an IT consultant.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE: The Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship allows Brady to attend graduate school. While making a difference in the life of his family, Brady plans to use the technological knowledge he gains to help others. “I feel like I can take my education and actually help make the world a better place, while also increasing profitability for my company,” he said. “A virtual “two-fer.”
ACCOLADES: Brady is the President of his local Tau Alpha Pi National Honor Society chapter as well as a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. In 2007, he was nominated to the All-USA Academic Team by USA Today.
INTERESTING FACT: Brady and his wife’s baby girl is due in September. Brady is also restoring a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette. “The car is very cool, but having a baby is even more fun (and harder work as well).”
