“I firmly believe that success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It’s what you do for others. I don’t want to be remembered for my success as a student, a musician, or a nonprofit business manager. I want to be remembered for living my life for others.”
PROFILE: Faith. That one word is how Kristina Rose Weaver describes how she has been able to accomplish so many things in her 24 years on earth. She doesn’t hesitate a second in saying her strong religious beliefs have gotten her over some rough patches. Whether it is volunteering on campus in Indianapolis or in the classroom, Kristina lives her faith each waking moment of the day. She originally was planning a career in music and earned her bacherlor’s degree in that subject. But her life-changing event happened a few years ago when she began tutoring homeless children at a shelter. “As I tutored the children, I realized that the most important thing I can do with my life is to use my skills to help others.” It was after working with the homeless youngsters that she changed her mind about what to study in graduate school.
