Biography
Growing up, Megan Wong says she and her five siblings were taught to maximize every opportunity with discipline and perseverance. She has applied this philosophy to her school work and her artistic pursuits. Megan is a gifted pianist. She has completed the eight piano examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and recently took the Diploma test. She is also a gifted student. Graduating a year early from high school, she has continued her studies through online distance learning courses and other classes.
As a Young Scholar, Megan has pursued her twin loves for math and piano through summer enrichment programs. She says her experiences not only taught her about advanced topics and techniques, but also introduced her to amazing peers. “Both humbled and motivated by my classmates’ lofty achievements, I discovered that the world was bigger than my public school at home and that there were indeed other students who shared my dedication and zeal for mathematics and piano.”
Both now and in the future, Megan says she seeks to serve her community with her talents and, “to become an unassuming leader who models life by concrete example and quiet duty.”
