Why does the Cooke Foundation require financial information from both of my parents?

The Cooke Foundation requires parent financial information from students younger than 30 years of age. One reason we require financial information from parents is that research shows that students from lower-income backgrounds are less likely to complete a college degree or assume educational debt, and therefore may need greater assistance than others.
