Nation’s Largest Undergraduate Scholarships Accepting Applications This Fall

LANSDOWNE, VA – Today the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation announces that two of the nation’s most generous undergraduate scholarships will accept applications this fall. The Foundation’s College Scholarship application will open by September 12, and the Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship application will open by October 6. Both scholarships provide selected students up to $40,000 per year, the Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship for up to three years and the College Scholarship for up to four years, to study at an accredited U.S. college or university.

The Foundation has increased the annual scholarship cap from $30,000 to $40,000, making these the largest undergraduate scholarships in the nation. “We believe it is important for our Scholars to graduate from college as close to debt free as possible,” said Vice President of Programs Emily Froimson, “so that they can maximize the career and graduate school opportunities that await them.”

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program will select up to 40 high-achieving high school seniors with unmet financial need who intend to attend the country’s best four-year colleges and universities. The application will close November 4, 2014.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program provides up to 85 slots to the nation’s top community college students who seek to complete their bachelor’s degrees at four-year colleges and universities. The application will close December 2, 2014.

These two highly competitive scholarships may cover college costs such as tuition, books, living expenses, and other required fees, ongoing educational advising from Foundation specialists, and the opportunity to network with the larger Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholar community.
