Cooke Scholars and Alums Gather in Los Angeles for Cooke Connections: Southern California

Earlier this month, Cooke Scholars, Alums, and Foundation staff gathered in Los Angeles for the latest in our series of regional Cooke Connections events providing valuable networking and career development opportunities.

Throughout the day, Cooke Scholars and Alums had the opportunity to tour the UCLA and USC Career Centers and access tailored career support, LinkedIn guidance, and have professional headshots taken. Cooke Alum Melissa Gordon also provided a behind-the-scenes tour of her workplace, Anime studio Crunchyroll.

To cap off the day, the community came together for an evening of networking, professional development, and to hear from keynote speaker, Cooke Alum Jeffrey García. Garcia shared key insights from his journey as a Cooke Young Scholar and College Scholar, as well as advice received from his mentors along his path towards becoming a successful partner at a finance firm and contributor to his community.

Even beyond career development, these events are instrumental in helping Cooke Scholars and Alums build supportive connections that last well beyond the college years, which is part of what makes the Cooke community so incredible! Thanks to all of you who joined us in SoCal!
