Cooke Scholar

Stephani Calderon, a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Scholar, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin’s McComb School of Business with a major in international business.

“I was originally born in Mexico and I came to the US when I was three years old,” Stephani said. “I always kind of had that appeal for learning about different cultures.”

Currently, Stephani is a consulting senior analyst at the IT company Accenture, where she combines her passions for finance and business with her knack for getting along with different groups of people.

“One day I could be working in a beauty care product, and the next day I could be working for education for the US,” Stephani said about her job. “It’s nice to have that variety and those options available for you.”

In the future, Stephani would like to bring her experience in the business world to the government and help create meaningful change.

“I have a huge interest in policy and change,” Stephani said, “Making a difference and making an impact has always been a great interest to me and that’s what drives me every day.”

Eventually, Stephani sees herself working for the foreign service department, helping countries like the US and Mexico improve trade relations.
