Anya KeysEducational Adviser, Young Scholars
As a senior educational adviser, Ms. Keys provides academic advising and access to educational opportunities to the Foundation’s Young Scholars.
Before joining the Foundation, Ms. Keys taught, advised, and mentored over 200 students at Eastern Senior High School in NE Washington, DC. During the 2011-2012 academic year, she taught English and writing to tenth grade students and served as an English department chair. Prior to moving to DC, Ms. Keys began her career with Teach For America (TFA), teaching English to a diverse group of high school students in Revere, Massachusetts, just northeast of Boston.
Ms. Keys received her B.A. from the University of Virginia in French Language and Literature and Women and Gender Studies, and her M.A. in Curriculum and Teaching from Boston University. She also practices and teaches yoga in Northern Virginia.
