Christian Starling

Educational Adviser, Young Scholars Program

Christian joins the Foundation after more than a decade at the School for Ethics and Global Leadership (SEGL), where he served as Academic Dean in Washington, DC, before becoming the Founding Director of its London campus. Across these roles, he supported more than 500 students as an advisor and counselor, helped shape SEGL’s signature Ethics and Leadership program, and led the school’s expansion to a full-term campus in London.

Beyond his advising and teaching, he has been deeply involved in curriculum design, faculty hiring and mentoring, and crisis management, helping SEGL navigate challenges ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic to major social and political events in Washington, DC.

Christian began his career as a National Teaching Fellow with Citizen Schools in Charlotte, NC, and later taught English and history at the Community Charter School of Cambridge, where he also served on the Race and Diversity Professional Development Task Force. He holds a bachelor’s degree in social anthropology with a minor in visual and environmental studies from Harvard College and a master’s in curriculum and instruction from Lesley University.
