Educational Adviser, Young Scholars Program

As an Educational Adviser, Genesis provides academic advising and access to educational opportunities for the Foundation’s Cooke Young Scholars Program.

Before joining the Foundation, Genesis was a Program Coordinator at CollegeTracks in Montgomery County, Maryland. In this role, she supported first-generation-to-college students from low-income and immigrant households in several Montgomery County public high schools to help them achieve postsecondary education and continue bridging systemic opportunity gaps. This included guiding students through their college and financial aid applications. She also facilitated college advising and readiness webinars for students and families in both English and Spanish. She has designed and led virtual workshops, collected and tracked programmatic data, and coached students during one-on-one advising meetings.

Prior to CollegeTracks, Genesis worked in technical recruiting and talent acquisition. Genesis received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Maryland-College Park.
