Cooke NCCEP Internship
Cooke National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP) Internship
The Cooke NCCEP Internship is located at NCCEP’s national office in Washington, DC. NCCEP supports the federal GEAR UP college access and readiness program. This is a unique and privileged opportunity to work within a national organization that advances college access through advocacy, training, and research.
The deadline for applying for this opportunity is February 26, 2016, with notification in March 2016. Undergraduate scholars who are rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and are in good standing, are eligible to apply. Scholars who have already graduated or who will graduate in spring 2016 are ineligible.
There is one Cooke internship position available through this opportunity, but the NCCEP is flexible in the experience that they will provide. Interested applicants should review the two internship descriptions provided and determine which track they are interested in and denote that on the application. Applicants cannot apply to both opportunities. Since there is one spot available for the foundation to award, the application is a competitive process. Applicants will be reviewed on best fit for the duties and needs of the internship, including relevant experience and skills as well as scholar goals and aspirations.
The dates of the internship are flexible, but the selected intern must complete at least 320 hours with NCCEP between June 1, 2016, and August 31, 2016. At the end of the internship, you must submit an internship report and an evaluation of the program. The stipend is a cash award paid directly to the selected scholar the first week of June. Any travel, housing, or other expenses incurred for the internship must be budgeted out of the award by the recipient, as no additional funding will be provided. NCCEP offers ideas for affordable housing in the DC area for the duration of the internship.
